2025 AI Marketing Predictions: What AI Models (and I) Think Is Coming Next
By Lisa Peyton, AI Marketer, Professor, and Innovator
I woke up early this morning with a compelling idea: why not ask my bench of AI friends what they think the future of marketing will look like? So, I gathered predictions from Claude (my BFF!), ChatGPT, AWS Nova Pro, Perplexity, and Gemini Flash, then added my own insights to the mix. The results? Pretty fascinating (and sometimes funny) glimpse into what 2025 might hold for us marketers.
The Big Themes Everyone’s Excited About
1. Hyper-Personalization (But For Real This Time)
Look, we’ve been talking about personalization forever, but 2025 might be when it gets real and can scale. ChatGPT boldly claims we’ll see a 10-20% increase in ROI from this stuff, and Perplexity notes that 85% of marketers are already seeing positive results from generative AI personalization tactics. My take? Yes, personalization will be important, but let’s not forget about building a thoughtful content strategy first.
2. The Content Creation Game-Changer
One of my top predictions is what I’m calling “MultiModal Magic” – and the AI models seem to agree. We’re talking about tools like Canva becoming absolute powerhouses, where you’ll be able to get beautiful designs for anything with just a button press. ChatGPT’s particularly optimistic, suggesting we’ll save 50-70% of our content creation time. As someone who’s spent countless hours in 2024 testing NOT SO GOOD AI design tools, I can’t wait!
3. The Great Digital Divide or The Rich Get Richer
Here’s something I’m particularly concerned about – and interestingly, none of the AI models mentioned it: the growing gap between those who can and can’t afford premium AI tools. With OpenAI charging $200/month for their elite tier, and others likely to follow suit, we’re looking at a world where the marketing playing field might become increasingly uneven. It’s something we need to talk about more as an industry.
4. The Rise of XR and Immersive Experiences
Another prediction I’m excited about is how generative AI will finally make XR (Extended Reality) accessible and practical for marketing. As content creation becomes easier, brands will need more immersive experiences to stand out. Think virtual product try-ons that actually work, interactive product demo’s, or 3D social shopping sprees!
What’s Changing for Us Marketers
New Skills We’ll Need
The AI models had a lot to say about this but let me break it down simply: we’re not going to be replaced, but we are going to need to level up. AWS Nova Pro talks about “Ethical AI Managers” (governance gone wild!), but really, it’s about becoming savvy AI strategists who can guide these tools while maintaining our brand’s human touch.
Customer Service Gets Superpowers
All the AI models agree that customer service is in for a major upgrade. ChatGPT predicts a 30-40% drop in support costs (CEOs everywhere just perked up), but I think the real win is being able to provide better service 24/7. Imagine never having to say “we’ll get back to you during business hours” again!
My Take on All This
While the AI models offered lots of sophisticated predictions about efficiency gains and ROI improvements, I’m most excited about the creative possibilities. Yes, we’ll need to be mindful of the digital divide and ensure we’re using these tools ethically, but the potential to create more engaging, personalized, and immersive marketing experiences is incredible.
My final thought? We’re looking at tools that will help us be more creative, more experimental, and hopefully, more human in our marketing.
What This Means For You
If you’re in marketing and communications, 2025 is looking pretty exciting. My advice?
- Start playing with AI tools YESTERDAY – even the free ones can teach you a lot
- Keep an eye on the multimodal content creation space (it’s moving fast!)
- Think about how you can use these tools to be more strategic and creative, not just more efficient
- Most importantly, stay human in how you connect with your audience and bring some wisdom to the AI knowledge party
